In short, I’m an avid reader, writer, artist, graphic designer and geek. I love to entertain, create, and innovate and I’m always looking for new ways to exercise my creativity.
Here’s the more detailed info…
I was born and raised just a short drive from Nashville, Tennessee. It’s hard not to appreciate music in general when you grow up in a place dubbed Music City, USA. I’ve always had an ear for it but making music was never a real gift of mine. I’ll let the real musicians create the music but I’m no less inspired by it. I am constantly motivated by the music I listen to and it accentuates many aspects of my life.
I’m a very passionate person and one of my true passions is words. I love reading them and, more deeply, I love writing them. I’m always interested in the etymology and definition of words and languages. Right now I’m working on honing my skills as a writer and you’ll find a lot of what I call “practice” on my blog. It’s my hope that one day I can be a published writer and share my love of words with the world.
The most important passion of my life is my family. I’ve known my wife, Holly, for most of my life. We attended the same day care, school, and church, and I watched her grow up into the beautiful woman she is today. Some might assume that I have been stalking her for years, but in all honesty I didn’t start stalking her taking notice of her until high school. We fell in love and did everything backwards, as our generation is prone to do. We decided to get married after finding out that our daughter, Cora, was going to help us start our little family. Three years later, Isaac joined the team and the four of us all live not too far from where Holly and I grew up. We’ve decided it best to stop now while we’re ahead, but I have found fatherhood to be the most challenging and most rewarding adventure of my life.
Another one of my passions is gastronomy, cooking in it’s social aspect for the layman. No, I’m not a classically trained chef or anything like that. I just really enjoy the hell out of food. There is nothing better at relieving stress after a hard day of work than creating something special in the kitchen. The smells, the tastes, the textures – all so incredibly gratifying to me. You’ll find I love to post pictures of the foods I enjoy. Whether I’m at home or out to eat, if a picture is worth a thousand words then what better way to compliment a great meal?
I’m not much for politics or religion, but you’ll find that I inevitably speak on these things from time to time. I believe that there is an underlying fundamental constant no matter what your ideology is; the tie that binds us as humans together as one. Without kindness we are individual units without purpose or hope and the last passion that I will speak on is my endeavor to be a kinder person. It’s too easy in our present day in age to succumb to violence, anger, and retribution. We have made leaps and bounds in science and technology, providing for more comfort and knowledge. While these things are important and must continue, we must never lose sight of our humanity and the continual progress to become better, more compassionate people.
I really hope you’ll become a frequent visitor to my website and help in creating a community of people with shared interests and passions. Feel free to contact me anytime for any reason. I’d love to hear from you.
Thanks for stopping by!
